Personally identifiable and commercially sensitive data should not be placed directly on-chain. ClimaFI can use hashes, identifiers, references, encrypted storage and permissioned access instead.

The role of blockchain

A record of transactions—not proof of raw reality.

Blockchain can demonstrate that a record existed, has not been altered and was linked to a transaction. It does not independently prove that the underlying real-world event occurred.
